PATH TO PROMOTION

Cadet promotions and position assignments are based on individual performance, demonstrated potential and overall performance at Central High School. Many factors are evaluated by the Naval Science Instructors before awarding ranks, promotions and position assignments. Promotions will be considered at the end of each semester.

Below are the minimum standards for promotions and staff positions:
Minimum Standards
1
GPA of at least 2.0 in ALL classes.
2
At least a "C" grade in NJROTC.
3
No missed uniform days.
4
No suspensions, detentions, or other unfavorable disciplinary actions.
5
Proper military appearance, including haircut, shave and female regulation hair styles.
6
Acceptable level of participation in NJROTC activities and events.

Meritorious Promotions
Cadets performing above and beyond the call of duty may be considered for meritorious promotion.

Staff Appointments
Once minimum standards are met and minimum requirements in rank are met, a cadet may apply for a position by completing a job request form via the Chain of Command, be recommended by cadet staff, submit two character letters of recommendation from faculty or administrators, initiate a unit project and complete it from start to finish. (i.e. fundraisers, community service, NJROTC event)
