| Book Tour 2001 is a writing project which began in the fall of the 2000-2001 school year. Students write narrative, expository, and descriptive essays each month using various writing prompts provided by the teacher or students. Students keep a writing portfolio. Throughout the school year, students will write and illustrate books using each type of essay which they will share with their classmates. Students will display their books in the class library. During the spring, the students will be able to participate in the Young Authors' Conference. The grand finale of this writing project will be a book tour to the system's 6 elementary schools so they can share their books with younger children. | |
