Planting Seeds: Students try their hands at growing a variety of seeds. Some of the seeds were sunflower, chives, and parsley. |

Leaf Imprints: Students make models of fossil imprints, and infer how such imprints are alike and different from the organism that made them. |

Oil Spill Cleanup: Students experiment and time 3 different ways to clean up an oil spill: eyedropper, paper towel, and cotton balls. |

Olympic Adaptations: Students work in groups to measure and record distances for different ways of walking a pretend balance beam: eyes closed or looking straight ahead and head level or tilted (ear to shoulder). |

Solution or Suspension: Students observe and classify suspensions and solutions. They had 4 cups of water. In the different cups they mixed in salt, sugar, ground black pepper, and sugar. They observed which substances dissolved and which ones filtered out. |

Growing and Comparing Fungi: Students grow and compare different species of fungi from a slice of bread, a piece of an orange, and a piece of banana or apple. Students record their observations in their trifold. |
