Inquiring Minds Want to Know
Inquiring Minds Want to Know is a project which encourages scientific investigations. It began in the fall of the 2000-2001 school year for Mrs. Garrett's fifth grade class. Students read and discuss articles and experiments in their monthly issue of Super Science magazine. Students conduct experiments which address 5th grade science objectives utilizing science project books, an Elementary Science Kit, and presentation boards which were purchased through a Phenix City Education Foundation, Inc. grant. The students will maintain a journal or log, use math and science skills to collect and record data, utilize research skills, write expository essays, and create brochures. Students will display components of various experiments (graphs, charts, pictures, brochures, etc.) and participate in the school's science fair.
