-Brainstorm ideas about the word.

-Write the ideas in the Changing Lives activity book.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Winning over a Three-year-old.

-Review abbreviations on page 90-91, and 108.  (Also, list all the months.)

Mastery Test on Abbreviations is tomorrow.

-Solve problems from the Spiral Review and Test Prep 1-14 transparency (1-13 and problem for my homebase) and the Problem of the Day. 

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Friday’s work. (-Go over page 33 with my class.)  Review math content by completing the Diagnostic Checkpoint on page 35.)

-Compute sums and differences of two whole numbers greater than 10,000 on pages 36-37.

-Check out these online study guides on Whole Numbers, Decimals, and Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals from our math series.

-Review Comparing and Ordering Whole Numbers, Comparing and Ordering Decimals, and/or Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals.  Mastery Test 2 on Friday.

-Visit Mission Control (9:30-10:30 and 1:30-2:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday) and visit the various sites listed below.

Tuesday

-Write a rough draft for the Word of the Week in the Changing Lives activity book.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Our Bus Drive Fell Asleep!

-Take the Mastery Test on Abbreviations.

-Take out old language material, staple, and turn in for a grade. 

-Begin a new folder.

-Solve problems from the Spiral Review and Test Prep 1-15 transparency and the Problem of the Day.

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Monday’s work.

-Compute sums of decimals involving tenths, hundredths, and thousandths on pages 38-39.

-Review Comparing and Ordering Whole Numbers, Comparing and Ordering Decimals, and/or Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals.  Mastery Test 2 on Friday.

-Calculate distances of the planets to understand an astronomical unit by completing “Scaling the Solar System” on pages 18-19.  (need calculators)

Wednesday

-Identify groups of words as sentences or not sentences on pages 2-3.

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Tuesday’s work.

-Identify and correctly write the four kinds of sentences using pages 4-5. 

Mastery Test on End Marks will be given on Tuesday.

-Solve problems from the Spiral Review and Test Prep 1-17 transparency and the Problem of the Day.

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Wednesday’s work.

-Tell whether and why the work shown for given problems is correct or not on pages 42-43.

-Review Comparing and Ordering Whole Numbers, Comparing and Ordering Decimals, and/or Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals.  Mastery Test 2 on Friday.

-Complete a Venn diagram like the one on page 20 using the table on page 19 in “Planning the Planets.”

 

Friday

-Publish your final copy in the Changing Lives activity book.

(Activities from Changing Lives are given grades in Language as “Other Averages.”

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Let me tell you how I can Improve Myself.

-Identify complete subjects and complete predicates of sentences on pages 6-7.

Mastery Test on End Marks will be given on Tuesday.

-Solve problems from the Spiral Review and Test Prep 1-18 transparency and the Problem of the Day.

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Thursday’s work.

-Review and apply key concepts, skills, and strategies learned in Chapter 1 on pages 44-45.

-Show mastery by taking the second Mastery Tests for Comparing and Ordering Whole Numbers, Comparing and Ordering Decimals, and/or Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals as needed.
