Monday

-Discuss the Word of the Week: 

Cooperation

-Brainstorm ideas about the word.

-Write the ideas in the Changing Lives activity book.

-Get this lesson plan signed by your parent/guardian.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  What’s for Supper?

-Go over homework on pages 236-237.

-Identify proper adjectives and capitalize correctly using page 236-237.

-Type some of your essays or paragraphs in the computer lab.

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-First group needs to discuss Planet Hopping activity that will be at 1:30.

-Review factoring and prime factorization using worksheet 11 from How to Multiply (Teacher Created Materials).

-Determine Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple using worksheets 30 and 31 from Advantage Math Grade 5.  (Transparencies on GCF and LCM)

-Comparing Fractions using Fractions workbook page 5 and the fraction bars.

-Study dividing with 2-digit divisors for the Mastery Test on Tuesday.  You can use the following workbook pages to study:  51, 52, and 54.

-Study Factoring, GCF, and LCM for a Mastery Test on Wednesday.  You can use the following workbook pages to study:  42, 93, and 103.

-Study Simplifying Fractions using workbook 94 and Converting Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions using WB 87 for Mastery Tests on Thursday.  

-Study for Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Like Denominators using WB 101 for a mastery test on Friday.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-When you go to the computer lab or Mission Control, try visiting some of the following approved sites:

-Write a rough draft for the Word of the Week in the Changing Lives activity book.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Good Job!

-Study Adjectives for the first mastery test on Wednesday using adjective study guide. 

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Mission Control to make bar graphs with Create a Graph and the information about Planet Hopping.

-Understanding Equivalent Fractions using Fractions workbook pages 6-7.

-Simplifying fractions using Fractions workbook pages 10-11.  (Use the GCF)

-Study for the Factoring, GCF, and LCM Mastery Test on Wednesday.

-Study Simplifying Fractions and Converting Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions for Mastery Tests on Thursday.

-Study for Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Like Denominators for a mastery test on Friday.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-Review division of 2-digit divisors.

-Demonstrate knowledge of dividing with 2-digit divisors on the Mastery Test.

Wednesday

-Revise your rough draft on the Word of the Week in the Changing Lives activity book to make it better.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  What an Adventure!

-Demonstrate knowledge of Adjectives by taking the first mastery test.

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

 

-Adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators.

-Study Simplifying Fractions and Converting Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions for Mastery Tests on Thursday.

-Study for Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Like Denominators for a mastery test on Friday.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables

-Demonstrate knowledge of Factoring, GCF, and LCM on the Mastery Test.

Thursday

-Proofread your Word of the Week writing to make it flawless.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Ice Hotel

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Identify synonyms and antonyms using pages 238-239.

-Add adjectives to sentences to make them more interesting using pages 240-241.

-Study Adjectives for the second mastery test on Friday if you didn’t pass it on the first one. 

-Adding and Simplifying fractions using Fractions workbook page 12.

-Study for adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators for a mastery test on Friday.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Simplifying Fractions on the Mastery Test.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Converting Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions on the Mastery Test.

Friday

-Publish your final copy in the Changing Lives activity book.

(Activities from Changing Lives are given grades in Language as “Other Averages.”)

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Nobel Prize

-Write a 5-paragraph essay using the prompt the teacher provides.  Favorite Subject (expository)

--Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Adjectives by taking the second Mastery Test if you didn’t pass the first one.

-Adding fractions with different denominators using Fractions workbook page 13.

-More adding fractions with different denominators and simplifying answers using Fractions workbook page 14. 

-Adding Fractions with Different denominators- a Shortcut using Fractions workbook page 15.

-Subtract fractions with different denominators using the LCM (LCD or Lowest Common Denominator).

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-Study for division with two-digit divisors second mastery test on Monday.
