Monday

-Discuss the Word of the Week:  Sportsmanship

-Brainstorm ideas about the word.

-Write the ideas in the Changing Lives activity book.

Always print in legible handwriting.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Visit the Symphony for those students who will demonstrate self-control and good manners.

-Write an essay about the symphony.  It can be a narrative, descriptive, or expository essay.  Due no later than this Friday, unless otherwise told.

-Review using colons in sentences.

-Study for the second colon mastery test.  Test on Tuesday.

-Always print in legible handwriting.

These two review activities should be already completed:

-Practice skills on Reading Vocabulary from Scoring High on pages 1-8.

-Practice skills on Reading Comprehension from Scoring High on pages 9-26.

--Participate in DARE during Exploratory time.  DARE will be during exploratory on Mondays.

-Study for the second mastery tests on the following skills:

  1. Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Unlike Denominators  (pages 460-489, WB101-WB108)
  2. Multiply Fractions and Mixed Numbers (pages 490-501, WB110-WB113)
  3. Circle Graphs (pages 286-291, WB66)
  4. Probability (pages 300-305, WB69-71)
  5. Symmetry and Transformations (364-370, 82-83)
  6. Classify Angles, Lines, Segments (pages 328-335, WB73-74)

-Practice math and reading skills using science concepts.

-Review circle graphs, symmetry, transformations, and classifying angles, lines, segments.

Tuesday

-Write a rough draft for the Word of the Week in the Changing Lives activity book.

Always print in legible handwriting.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Demonstrate knowledge of colons by taking the second Mastery test.

-Always print in legible handwriting.

-Discuss answer choices and strategies for Reading Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension.  Write the answers correctly for extra 100 participation for Reading Vocabulary and an extra for Reading Comprehension.

-Write an essay about the symphony.

-Demonstrate knowledge of circle graphs by taking the second mastery test.

-Demonstrate knowledge of symmetry and transformation by taking the second mastery test.

-Demonstrate knowledge of classifying angles, lines, and segments by taking the second mastery test.

 

-Practice math and reading skills using science concepts.

-Review multiplying fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, and probability.

Wednesday

-Revise your rough draft on the Word of the Week in the Changing Lives activity book to make it better.

Always print in legible handwriting.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Practice skills in Language in Scoring High on pages 61-74 by numbering your paper as it is in the book and without skipping lines.  Read and complete the sample questions for understanding, but do not write the sample answers down on your paper.

-Always print in legible handwriting.

-Write an essay about the symphony.

 

-Demonstrate knowledge of multiplying fractions by taking the second Mastery Test.

-Demonstrate knowledge of adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators by taking the second mastery test.

-Demonstrate knowledge of probability by taking the second mastery test.

-Practice math and reading skills using science concepts.

 

Thursday

-Proofread your Word of the Week writing to make it flawless.

-Publish your final copy in the Changing Lives activity book.

Always print in legible handwriting.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Practice skills in Language in Scoring High on pages 61-74 by reviewing answers and strategies.  Write the answers correctly for extra 100 participation.

-Always print in legible handwriting.

-Write an essay about the symphony.

-Take the practice ARMT test in math series workbook on pages 83-101 (Do not write on these pages).  Tear out pages 105-117, staple and write answers on them.

-Practice math and reading skills using science concepts.

-Solve problems from the Spiral Review and Test Prep transparency and the Problem of the Day.
