Assignment Sheet for November 8-12, 2004

Monday

-Discuss the Word of the Week:  Generosity

-Brainstorm ideas about the word.

-Write the ideas in the Changing Lives activity book.

-Bring in a package of your favorite cookies for the class.  We will be completing writing assignments describing how the cookies taste, smell, look, feel, and sound before, during, and after we eat them.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Good Nutrition

-Complete the verb activity cards.

-Imagine you are a soldier fighting for our country.  Which of the armed forces are you serving in?  Where are you?  What are you feeling?  Who from home do you miss the most?  Write a letter home to this person, describing the answers to the preceding questions.

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Begin working on a Career Poster or Poetry for the competition.  It must be on an 8.5” X 11” paper.    See guidelines in red folder tomorrow.  Due Friday.  Theme:  My Career:  Imagine the Possibilities

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Participate in small group (Robert, Ty’Meisha, Ashley, Maranda, Markeil, Tyeshia, Brianna, Tabious, Demarius, Ericka, K’Dejha, Erik, Damian, and Jeffery) to review Verbs and Subject-Verb Agreement for the mastery tests on Friday.  (pages 144-173) 

-Discuss number sentences used to solve word problems on pages 104-105, 114-117.

-Define vocabulary on page C82 for an easy one hundred.  Write neatly and correctly.  Minus 5 points for miscopied information.
