Monday

-Discuss the Word of the Week:  Obedience.

-Brainstorm ideas about the word.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book: Let Me Help You Get Around.

-Take a practice writing assessment by writing for 40 minutes on the writing prompt.

-Identify compound sentences on pages 14-15.  Go over answers.

-Identify sentence fragments and rewrite the complete sentences on pages 16-17.  Go over answers.

-Correctly write singular and plural nouns on page 101 and 102.  Also, study pages 496-497.

-Study Unit 3 on Nouns for a third mastery test that will be given on Thursday.  (common nouns, proper nouns, singular nouns, plural nouns, singular possessive nouns, plural possessive nouns, and compound nouns)

-Type and save 5 of your favorite daily paragraphs or Changing Lives paragraphs during Computer Lab.

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Wednesday’s work:  pages 58-59.

-Review Chapter One concepts on pages 60-61.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Expanding Whole Numbers and Properties of Addition by taking the second mastery tests.  (Mrs. Gibson’s class only.)

-Demonstrate knowledge of Expanding Decimals by taking the Mastery Test.  (3, 8, 15, 17, and 22 in Garrett and 3 and 15 in Gibson)

-Study for retake mastery tests on Expanding Whole Numbers, Expanding Decimals, Compare and Order Whole Numbers, Compare and Order Decimals, and Properties of Addition on Tuesday. 

-Practice Chapter One skills by logging-in with your user ID and password at this website:  http://www.SFSuccessnet.com

-Identify run-on sentences and correctly capitalize and punctuate on pages 18-19.

-Correctly write common and proper nouns on page 103.

-Correctly write compound nouns on page 109.

-Practice cursive handwriting (ghi).

-Study for Sentences Mastery Test by being able to identify groups of words as sentences, fragments, or run-on sentences.  (Test on Friday)

-Study Unit 3 on Nouns for a third mastery test that will be given on Thursday.  (common nouns, proper nouns, singular nouns, plural nouns, singular possessive nouns, plural possessive nouns, and compound nouns)

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Monday’s work.

-Review math concepts for chapter one on pages 62-63.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Expanding Whole Numbers, Expanding Decimals, Compare and Order Whole Numbers, Compare and Order Decimals, and Properties of Addition by taking the third mastery tests.  (Only students who have not mastered these skills.)

-Study for Mastery Test on Solving Word Problems with Decimals and Money.

 -Go to Mission Control and create a Venn Diagram in Word.  (9:30 A.M. and afternoon)

-Make a list of the planets with a tilt less than 30 degrees using the provided table.

-Make a list of the planets that have satellites.

-Create a Venn Diagram comparing the information.

Wednesday

-Revise your rough draft on the Word of the Week in the Changing Lives activity book to make it better.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  What a Wacky Day!

-Join simple sentences with a comma and and, or, or but on pages 22-23.

-Practice cursive handwriting (jkl).

-Study for Sentences Mastery Test by being able to identify groups of words as sentences, fragments, or run-on sentences.  (Test on Friday)

-Study Unit 3 on Nouns for a third mastery test that will be given on Thursday.  (common nouns, proper nouns, singular nouns, plural nouns, singular possessive nouns, plural possessive nouns, and compound nouns)

-Correctly write singular and plural possessive nouns on pages 104, 105, 106, and 107.

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review Tuesday’s work.

-Review chapter one by working on math workbook pages 1-5.  You may work ahead.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Solving Word Problems with Decimals and Money by taking the Mastery Test.

-Study for Mastery Test on Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals. 

-Study for third mastery test on adding and subtracting large numbers.  Test on Friday.

-Practice cursive handwriting (mno).

-Review sentences on pages 24-25.

-Combine ideas into one sentence using worksheet called Combine Ideas.

-Demonstrate knowledge of nouns by taking the third noun mastery test.

-Study for Sentences Mastery Test by being able to identify groups of words as sentences, fragments, or run-on sentences.  (Test on Friday)

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Review chapter one by working on pages 6-10 in Math Workbook.  You may work ahead.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals by taking the third Mastery Test.

-Study for third mastery test on adding and subtracting large numbers.  Test on Friday.

-Study for Mastery Test on Solving Addition/Subtraction Problems Using Estimation.  Test on Friday.

-Demonstrate knowledge of sentences by taking the first test on sentences.

-Share writing pieces during our exploratory time.

-Work on Accelerated Math.

-Complete workbook pages 11-15.  Turn in completed workbook on Monday.  Grade goes into other math grades’ average.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Solving Addition/Subtraction Problems Using Estimation.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Adding and Subtracting Large Numbers.

-Go to Mission Control.  (9:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M.)

-Share information on moon phase collection.

-Read the Weekly Reader called Lord of the Rings.

-Read the Chart of the Planets in the Weekly Reader and answer the 4 questions.

-Share moon observations and continue observations.

Lesson plans are subject to change.
