FNN: Falcon News Network,
is a videotaped daily news show, which will be produced by 4th, 5th, and 6th
grade students with the guidance of a teacher. Students will broadcast the
school's news, lunch menu, moment of silence, and pledge to 1200+ students and
staff on the school's closed circuit televisions. At least 28 students
will have an opportunity to video tape and be anchors, while students from all
classes will have an opportunity to be guest reporters. The goal of this
project is to develop students' ability to organize, communicate, and present
ideas and events. Tapes of all the broadcasts will be made available for
viewing, and an evaluation form will be complete by the participants, staff, and
by a cross-section of the student body. The program will begin in August
2001 and end in May 2002.
This program is partially funded by
the Phenix City Education Foundation, Inc.
