SUBSTITUTE TEACHING EMPLOYMENT

Applications may be obtained in person at
Phenix City Board of Education

Completed reference forms should be mailed to:

All persons interested in substituting for the Phenix City Board of Education will need to provide the following items to the Personnel Office:


- Driver's License (or other form of government issued photo ID.)

- Social Security Card (must be signed to be valid.)

- Copy of College Diploma, High School Diploma or G.E.D.

- TB Skin Test (no more than one year old.) This test can be performed at the Russell County Health Department.

- Fingerprinting (registration and more information for this process is available at www.cogentid.com/AL )

- $30.00 postal money order or cashier's check payable to the State Department of Education for a Substitute Teacher's License. (You will need either a Substitute Teacher's License or a Teaching Certificate in order to sub.)



The following forms will be completed at the Board of Education office:

- Substitute Application Form

- Three Reference Forms (no applicant will be interviewed until three references are on file.)

- Application for Substitute Teacher's License

- Employment Eligibility Verification Form

- W-4 and A-4 Tax Forms

- Background Check Form
